Hi Rick,
Well my BDM4350 Philips monitor just died... I suspect it over heated in the weather conditions So. Calif. has been having, even close to the coast.
Just wondering what you are using these days for an external monitor, I really liked the Philips 43" monitor but seems like this has become a commercial class and there really are no similar replacements. The message board displays that offer 24/7 service are too bright for desktop and the desktop monitors in this class are 16/7 uptime or designed for TV usage and don't have the same high quality image of the Philips.
It not about the cost, its about not having to turn it off for 8 hours, my Philips just went to sleep and did not require to be powered off.
Any suggestions?
I downsized to a 32" display which are more abundant.
I have several of these:
(older versions)
I have 3 of these (and 1 Dell that is not as nice) - 2 screens for each of my offices on Maui and in Hood River. 1 for the PC 1 for the Mac. For me the smaller size actually worked better as I can see the the entire screen without moving my head. The 40" put the edges just beyond my field of vision.
CostCo also often has these on sale.
There are lots of options at the 32" 4k level. Just make sure you don't get a 32" wide (non-4k) monitor - much better to get the higher vertical pixel aspect ration of a 4k display.
