Hi Rick,

When using the copy button to save a request, is it possible to include the name of the request along with the actual data ? Or is it already there and I'm just missing it?

The reason I'm ask is I'm using Websurge for prototyping and want to gather all my test cases into internal documentation. It will be helpful to have the name as a header for each test case.

TIA

Hmmm... it's in the actual request data if you look in the source file (ie. the session list file). But just double checking the Request-Name and Request-Group are stripped out when the request is displayed in the editor since it's being displayed explicitly in the UI. It's not really part of the actual request - it's basically meta data that WebSurge uses internally.

I'm not sure if I want to add it in. For documentation purposes it might be nice, but the primary use case for *Copy Request is to copy the content to a new topic in which case you definitely wouldn't want to have the request name in there.

Understood.

Here's a little more context. The text I'm looking for is not in what gets copied. And because it only appears in the window caption, I can't use the mouse to select and copy. I know it's in the websurge source file but, of course, I have to knit it together with the actual request & response data after running.

Perhaps it could be appended to the "400 Bad Request" string shown in the screenshot? IAC it's a nice to have not a need.

Thanks!

I would suggest enhanced as opposed to fixed. 😉

Is this released now or in the next update you push?

Thanks!
