Hi Rick,
I've gotten into the habit of using choco to get updates on the various non-framework WW tools I've licensed. Recently WebSurge has been telling me that 3.0.0.36 is available but the latest on choco is 3.0.0.35. I vaguely recall discussing this in the past and you indicated that eventually choco catches up but am I wasting my time using it as my primary update mechanism?
TIA
No - how stuff updates is up to the publisher. If updates are very minor I tend to not update chocolatey right away. The whole point of chocolatey is to make many installation manageable - it's not about individual things. If the Choco repo isn't updated, there's likely no good reason to update.
FWIW you can do a single manual update if you want to get away from the new version prompt, and then go back to Chocolatey for the next update - it'll still do the right thing.

Thanks, Rick. Makes perfect sense.
FWIW once I release the 3.0.1 version that isn't officially a preview there will be more regular updates with the proper updates on both platforms (also plan on adding WinGet).
The hangup is the move to .NET 9.0 that requires the Runtime Installer to have a few fixes and updates for the new runtimes which is time consuming and I haven't gotten to it yet.
