Hi

It has been along time since I installed Web Connection on a server. I have installed it on a Window 2023 Standard Server and when I try to access the Admin.asp page I get the following message:

Security Warning: You are accessing this request unauthenticated!

You are not allowed to access this page without authentication from a remote address. Aborting page display...

For some reason I am not being prompted to login. I have Basic and Windows Authentication enabled and I have the admin user setup in the wc.ini file. What am I missing?

Whoa that's old - the ASP page. Remove anonymous access from the admin folder.

Newer versions of Web Connection don't use these pages, but internally handle the access and automatically challenge.

Yes that fixed the problem. Now when I click on any of the links in the Admin page I get:

404 - File or directory not found.

It turned out to be an application Pool. IIS created separate application pools for each website and I had missed the fact that it was using a different application pool than I expected.
