In my constant quest to provide proofreading services this is what I see in MDM on the update notice form.
A wee bit of stray markup and text below the fold that can't be scrolled to...
And here's the version I'm currently using.
choco upgraded me to 3.0.1
It won't update me to the latest and greatest so I'm just downloading from its download page. I also just purchased a 2->3 license because I play fair. 😃
The update form looked fine in 3.0.1.
Which is... correct.
3.0.1 > 3.0.0.23
Semantic versioning...

Yeah that was fixed recently - but not on your older 2.x version.
I do see I need to update the notice text however. Current 2.x licenses no longer work with final release now... 😄

Re: semantics, of course I knew that 3.0.1 > 3.0.0.23. I was just trying to be a good end user and provide all the fine details. 😃
I did see in the docs that this is a version update and requires a new license so I ordered one yesterday, as you know. In advance of getting my new key, I installed 3.0.2.2 from the full installer (as opposed to choco which did not show 3.0.2.2 as available) prior to getting a new license key. I see my new key in my email this morning but I have not applied it yet. FYI when I look at the About form it still indicates that it's registered to me so just in case that new license key is supposed to be required, the app is not indicating my 3.0.2.2 version is unregistered.
The license isn't constantly validated - it only checks with the registration server in intervals so a properly formatted license works for a short period before it's checked and removed if not valid or for the wrong version.
2.x licenses were also working up to 3.0.0.29 or so when I switched to requiring the 3.x licenses so you probably just hadn't seen the license check timeout yet.
If you try to register your 2.x license, it would fail, but the new license will work of course.

Makes perfect sense, Rick. Thanks. I'll re-register and let you know if anything unexpecrted happens. Or would you prefer I wait for the magic unregistering to happen first?
You can register right away of course. Registration creates a new license that is stored locally and it'll be the right one for this version and activates it properly.
