I am setting up a new Windows 11 hard drive and slowly installing all of the programs that I use. I got to VFP 9 and the VFP9_sp2.exe that I normally use, which I keep on my HD, gives the message "This app cannot run on your PC". So I went to the MSDN DVD and tried to run from there and the Setup stopped on the 1st message something to the effect that I didn't have all of the prerequisites. I also tried to run as Admin and in compatibility mode. Eventually I found the WCU\ directory and ran that to install all of the needed prerequisites. Then I re-ran the DVD's VFP9 Setup.exe and got to the 2nd message on the Setup saying "Install Visual Foxpro on a compatible operating system".
It seems that others are installing on Win11. Does anyone have an idea of why I am running into the problem and maybe how to fix it?
TIA
Ed

Are you installing the full version of VFP or just SP2? SP2 is just a service pack - you have to have VFP installed from the full installer first.
Oh, and it definitely installs and runs on Windows 11.

PS, I'm getting to old for this! I was trying to run the Setup.exe in the DVD's \ENGLISH\VFOXPRO9.0\ directory. I then saw the \ENGLISH\VFOXPRO9.0\SETUP\ directory and ran the Setup.exe from there. That one worked! I have no idea what the difference between the two are but at least it worked. Jeeeeeze!
