Last week Rick reported that he still was in Oregon, and that his house on Maui is relatively far from the fire.

I'm in Oregon, and thankfully our house in Paia is on the other side of the island from where the fires occurred.

Unfortunately some of our friends and so many others weren't so lucky. It's causing quite a bit of chaos across the entire island as people are displaced and trying to get back on their feet, along with all the political posturing and profiteering that's now happening in the aftermath.
