Does anyone remember an application written by Calvin Hsia that wrote intelligent looking text. Sort of like ChatGPT. Can you send me a link please

Thanks,

Alex

Thanks for the response Tore but that is not it.

I think Calvin's program used War and Peace as a training text, but am not totally sure.

The best way to find out would be if anyone has communication with Calvin and asks him the question.

Anyone?

TIA,

Alex

Are you referring to the talking paper clip? Microsoft Agent perhaps...

ChatGPT has come a long way since those days!

Thank you for the response Harvey. No I am not referring to the talking paper clip.

At one point Calvin wrote a FoxPro program that generated text by predicting the next words, which is how I understand ChatGPT and others work.

It was remarkably realistic sounding. He trained it with the text of a book. I think War and Peace, but it may have been Anna Karenina or some other Russia sited novel.

By now I am hoping that someone who is in contact with Calvin can ask him for a link to the article.

Thanks,

Alex
