Hello friends,
Some clients are insisting on having kind of homeland protection for their websites.
So, they would like their website to be visible only in certain countries, like only for US, Canada and UK.
I would like to know your advice and experience to choose the best approach.
Thank you,
Kathy
There's really no reliable way to do this.
You can try to analyze IP Addresses and figure out where they are purported to come from but that's easy to bypass with VPNs or other types of proxies and spoofing.
If it matters for your application you need to get information from the customer and verify them in some way. By a phone number or some address verification service (evil!).
So no, there are no good solutions to this other than being vigilant about verifying your customers that do get access.

Kathy,
Check out syspeace.com for an add-on to the Windows Firewall. It includes geoIP blocking.

Thank you so much Rick,
I'm going to pass this complete explanation to them confidently and ask them to decide about it.
