Everything was going pretty swimmingly with my new WebConnect server until I added SSL to the default site and any SSL traffic gets directed to the Windows Admin Center instead of my app. http traffic still seems to work OK.

So... now I know not to use the default site for my future WC apps...

Anything I can do to correct this? Maybe un-install the Windows Admin Center certificate or something?

Why don't you use a host header domain? That's easy to set up and will make sure you have proper app separation.

For certs use LetsEncrypt (via WinAcme on Windows to create free certificates.

These days even on localhost if I still use full IIS (which I don't typically) - I use host headers and then add an entry into my local or network Hosts file. In essence separate Web sites have replaced my use of Virtual directories in IIS for anything but super trivial stuff.
