When attempting to send a file via FTP, we get error 500 Illegal Port. I traced it and it occurs in method ftpSEndFileEx and when it calls FtpOpenFile to begin the transfer process. We have used your product for years with great success but this one account is a problem child. According to an article I read, it might be router problems. Can you suggest some troubleshooting ideas?
Thank you.
PS. I may not have the latest version so I am going to download it now, if that matters. We are using Visual Foxpro 9.0 under Windows 10. Just can't give up Visual Foxpro because there is nothing like it out there.
Illegal Port almost certainly means a connection problem. Can you tell if the error is coming from the server or the client (server messages tend to be formatted funny like console text).
Either way it means that either the local port or the remote port are not accessible. It sounds like a remote message and the server is refusing the connection due port restrictions. It could also be Anti-Virus refusing to allow the port to be passed through.
Best thing to do is test with a full FTP client (like FileZilla) and see what you get. Also it could be that hte server requires a secure connection (which isn't supported by wwFtp).
