Has anyone had success using "Web Connection" on Linux running under Wine with Apache? I'm very interested to try this architecture. Any feedback is appreciated.

I looked into it a few years back and it didn't look good.

There are a number of problems there. First Web Connection uses a lot of Windows plumbing - COM, .NET and a host of API calls that are likely to not work (they didn't at the time).

The other issue is that Wine isn't exactly fast in the best of circumstances so performance is likely to take a big hit running FoxPro as a server like this.

It would be interesting to look into again though to see if this would work especially now that the Web Connection Web Server itself can run on Linux quite easily (which didn't work before even with Apache because the Apache module is for Windows).

But even if it did work, I'd be very weary of this just because there are likely to be so many edge cases of things that may fail randomly on this non-supported (for FoxPro) platform...
