Just wondering if anyone has ever found a solution to self host a dynamic DNS service on a Windows Server box ?

The Windows Server is on a public static IP address. I want to host a second server on my FIOS cable that only offers dynamic IP addressing.

Something bugs me about giving up my domain name for redirection to an outside hosting service that in turn hammers my laptop and if they shared I dynamic address could view all my security devices that are attached to my home LAN.

MintDNS is one option but is fairly costly for my personal use.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Best, and stay healthy

Maybe set up the Windows VPN service?

That is an idea but in this case, the server is a dedicated box running its own OS (not Windows) and it does not have any sort of ability to host a VPN. Rather the iPhone app that I have to download from the Apple Store, is expecting a public URL, port number and password. Both the server and the app were created by the same company. They recommend putting the machine on a public static addressed WAN connection or using DDNS if the connection is on a dynamic addressed WAN.
