We have been using wwIPStuff for many years to allow our clients to send emails from our VFP 9 application.
We now have clients that are moving to Office 365 or google mail.
The wwIPStuff email functions don't seem capable of sending email using those services.
Will updating from wwIPStuff (version 4.62) to something newer give us this capability without them having to set up relay services?
Kurt,
The older versions of wwIpStuff do not work with SSL/TLS connections required by public services. These features were added later via the .NET Integration features in the wwSMTP class. That class replaces the wwIpStuff class, but keeps the same interface.
wwIPStuff itself has been discontinued in favor of the West Wind Internet and Client Tools which is a superset of the features in wwIpStuff with a bunch of additional functionality.
- West Wind Internet and Client Tools
- wwSmtp Sample
- wwSmtp Secure TLS Sample (Gmail)
- Class Reference
- Upgrade from wwIPStuff to Client Tools (any version)
Hope this helps,

Thanks Rick!
That's what I thought but I had to ask...
Kurt
Just to clarify - wwSMTP is an update to what was in wwIPStuff so the interface remains the same almost entirely (with a couple of exceptions for attachments and multi-part content) so switching to a newer version mostly means adding the user/pwd and updating the initial wwIPStuff reference. The rest of the code likely stays as is. +++ Rick ---
