Curious if anyone uses rackspace for sending SMTP email successfully via wwipstuff and is having an issue recently?

I am getting: 503 5.5.1 Error: send HELO/EHLO first - without any changes on my end.

I tried installing a different email client on the production web server and it cannot send either (so I know it is not wwipstuff).

Maybe a recent 2016 Windows server update?

That sounds like a SMTP server issue - I suspect that perhaps the protocols changed at the ISP and you're now required to log in and/or use TLS connection security for the SMTP connection that previously was not required?

Anyway I'd check with your ISP and see what's changed around the time you started to see the failures.

Best thing to see if it's an issue with the connection is try a known working provider (like GMail or other email service you use explcitly for email.
