A MSGraph Chart stored in a General Field is displaying cut-off in the General Field Editor and on Forms and Reports (even with the Scale contents, retain shape option). It displays correctly in the MSGraph editor.

Anyone run across this?

P.S. Am open to an alternative Graphing engine. Any suggestions?

Have noticed that I can fully display the MSGraph Chart on a Form if the AutoActivate of the Ole-Bound Control is set to Automatic. Don't see an option in the Report Designer Picture/Ole Bound Control.

Am looking at using MSChart instead - can these Charts also be stored in General Fields and if so what is the Class Designation to do so.

Avoid general fields at all cost. One of the problems with general fields is the "close connection" between the data stored and the application that needs this data. General fields seemed like a good idea in the good old days, but history has proven that they are a PITA.

FoxCharts is a much better solution than MSxxx.

Hi Tore,

Thanks for your reply - yes, General Fields appear to be buggy.

Have observed that when attempting to Edit an MSChart General Field via Edit>Chart Object>Edit I get a 0x800401fd Object is not connected to Server Error (See Attachments)

FYI, am processing a 170 Question Survey with a required Bar-Chart results Report - hence the use of (pre-populated) General Fields.

Can FoxCharts be used for this type of Report?

Marshal
