Welcome to the Markdown Monster Forum. This message board provides a forum for discussing any and all issues and ideas around the Markdown Monster Markdown editor, addins and the process of creating addins.

Markdown Monster is an easy to use and extensible Markdown Editor and you can find out more about it here:

What's this forum for?

You can use this forum to:

  • Ask questions regarding Markdown Monster operation
  • Discuss feature suggestions
  • Report bugs (or use GitHub Issues)
  • Discuss Markdown Monster Addins
  • Discuss developer issues for creating Addins

Forum or GitHub Issues?

I do recommend that you report bona fida bugs, issues and clearly defined enhancement requests on GitHub:

as issues logged there go into our bug tracker and are more easily tracked.

This forum is meant to allow broader discussions that are not suited for the Issue tracking which includes extended discussions, ideas and anything related to custom addins you might be creating.

I hope to see you get involved here.

Yes, you can use Latex style expressions which are the common way that Math expressions are created for HTML display. This is a bit hacky but you can do the following:

< script type="text/javascript"  async
        src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/mathjax/2.7.5/latest.js?config=TeX-MML-AM_CHTML">
</ script>

Here's an equation:

$$
x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}.
$$

which looks like this:

In order for that to work you have to turn on "AllowRenderScriptTags": true in the Settings, so that script tags are allowed in the Markdown text. If that's not set the script tags are mangled to disallow script processing. The script needs to be in the page so that the previewer can refresh it.

MM could do this more generically, but there these scripts for math libraries are huge and have huge dependency trees (ie. they are slow to load), so you wouldn't want this as a global switch that loads on every page and slows non-math rendering down.
