I was asked to look into transcription of the audio portion from video recordings. My son who was working with a company similar to ZOOM recommended a company called Rev who does this sort of thing and has an API that looks fairly straight forward to call.

Wondering if anyone has ever played around with trying to do audio transcriptions from video files?

There are a few of these services. I remember Scott Hanselman used one of these for his podcast some time ago and said it was incredible accurate.

The biggest issue is that these things tend to be pretty pricey. This API is $1.25 per minute transcoded. That adds up quick... might be Ok for one of transcoding but if you need to do this as part of an app this becomes prohibitive fast.
