Windows OS - Is there a way to have the browser object creator use the default browser instead of IE?

IE is the only browser that can be automated, so I'm pretty sure that the short answer is NO.

What is the default browser object creator you're talking about?

When createobject("wwHTTP") is done.

Wrong assumption.

wwHttp doesn't use IE. It uses the Windows WinInet components which use the same stack IE uses, but have nothing to do with IE.

hmm, then why is there a TLS problem when we try to make a connection? The OS has TLS1.2 for accepting traffic but the IE doesn't. We can use palemoon to make TLS1.2 connections. (OS is the funky version Windows Web Server 2008. seems to be in between Vista and W7)

This is a Windows system issue... this has nothing to do with Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer happens to be using those same components, but IE is not directly involved in this (even though some of the config settings are made through IE's configuration which is just the easiest way to get to that dialog).

Blog post on the issues here:

problem was not in accepting TLS1.2 traffic but in making a connection to elsewhere. Co-worker found a solution, it involved the GroupPolicy editor to enable the choosing of TLS 1.2
