After having run MM for several hours, it has started to insert backslashes instead of forward slashes when I create links via the file picker from relative paths. It's the same behavior I reported in a PM to you this morning, which you haven't replied to yet. It started out fine, but then it changed its behavior without a warning. It even happened after restarting my computer. I use version 1.9.19 which was installed this morning.

Are you working on untitled documents? If you have an untitled document, paths are not relative as there's no path associated with the document at that point.

If that's not it please list steps on how this happens. There are lots of ways to add images to Markdown Monster.

Actually, it looks like images are fine, the problem is with documents. I just reproduced it as follows:

  1. I open an existing md file, and press ctrl-k.
  2. Link Text: Test
  3. Press the ... to browse for files to link to
  4. Select a subfolder, and click a file
  5. Press Open, and get this:

Hmmm... that likely never worked because that code a) hasn't been touched in ages and b) the logic normalizes paths as paths, not as URLs.

It's a bug for sure, but puzzled that you would have seen other behavior before.

Can you file a bug please:

Thanks,

Sure, I'll report it as a bug. I work on documentation for a few public GitHub repositories were I keep all the md files in the same folder, except for the mandatory readme.md. So most of the document links go to the same folder, and that's why I haven't noticed this before. Unfortunately the links don't work in the preview pane, so I can't try them until I commit the files to GitHub.

Thank you! I also realize that if I had the same problem with image links, I would have seen it in the preview window.
