Hi
I am looking for suggestion of best practices for handling a mobile version of a website using webconnection. I was thinking of using a subdomain of m.mywebsite.com with mobile version of the web pages. Now I am researching the best ways to implement this.
Thanks Simon
While that would work I'd really recommend using a mobile first or responsive design that can scale mobile and desktop. That's much easier to do today than it was before although it's still not very easy.
Web Connection 6.0 comes with Responsive templates out of the gate if you create a new project and we ship with the Bootstrap CSS library that you can use no matter whether the project is old or new. For example the message board here uses responsive design to work from desktop down to phone and there's another example here:
Creating and maintaining two separate sites or even just two separate sets of View pages is a royal pain to keep in sync, which is why these hybrid approaches generally work much better.
