Hi FIC.

Whilst Adapting my project, I get the error message

'File Access Denied C:\program File (X86)\Microsoft visual Foxpro 9\Tools\AB\AW.VCX'

If I skip this, I get the error message 'File Already Exists'.

If I continue ignoring the above, the Adaption Assistant tells me it cannot find
'FoxITR~.OCX'. Also PDFXCVIEWAX.DLL, both of which I cannot find.

* I have removed and re installed the Adapation Assistant.
* Deleted all AWAdapter files in my home directory for a fresh start.
* Operating System - Windows 8, 64 bit.
* I have not modified my application to remove all non FIC
* compatible items yet.

No other information is given to me to isolate the problem.

Thanks,

Keith

Yep, it is.

I know the problem must be me, otherwise would have been
fixed by now if others had same problem. :(

Hi Thierry.

Where do I get the debugger information from?
I cannot find any FIC logs with any information contained within.

My 'File Access Denied C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft visual Foxpro 9\Tools\AB\AW.VCX'
is just a MessageBox(), that is all I get. The file is there, and not in use as I can
rename both the .VCX and .VCT files.

Further Information-:

I re installed VFP and the FIC Adaption Assistant this morning, all to
default directories. Problem still the same.

Pasting C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft visual Foxpro 9\Tools\AB\ into
Windows Explorer takes me to the location of AW.VCX.

Thanks,

Keith

Hi Keith,

this is the last email our support group received from you (no privacy issue here):

Hi Support.
Just a quick bit of feedback.
My AW.VCX problem seems to have gone, I am just left with two missing files, which I'll investigate again at my end.
Other than that, no faults found.
Oh, by the way, the FIC Adaption Assistant seems to never have the version number changed. I have the latest, but it still identified as version 1.265

do you have new issues compared to that status?

if you run FAA while connected to the Internet, does it update automatically and can you see the version number change to 2.25?

thanks for your feedback,

This is Kevin, not Keith. I'm not the original poster.

To test the system, I created a project that has only two items in it: a single form with a single label, and a prg file that loads the form. I have tried to adapt and publish that, but I get the aw.vcx "file is in use" error and the project does not seem to actually be adapted.

I am using version 2.25 of the FAA.

OK sorry for the confusion…

This 'file is in use' issue is due to VFP locking the *.vcx at first use, and the only command to force vcx release is clear all that obviously FAA can't use (clear class and clear classlibrary do not do the job).

what if you start adaptation right after starting FAA, without opening any *.scx?

  • FAA shortcut on desktop

  • 'Adaptation Assistant' pad in the FoxInCloud system menu popup while running FoxInCloud Web Application Studio from specific desktop shortcut
