Need to reinstall foxpro on the cloud but I cant use my orinal CD because MS installer wont work with RDP. Is there a site I can download from and then use my license key? Also need to do this for SQLSErver 2008R2. Tried the iso file route but the iso files are too big to email

I install FoxPro frequently on virtual machines in the cloud and it works fine over RDP.

The main issue is getting a copy of FoxPro on that machine to actually install it.

The way I've done this is to copy the installer files from the CD and create a Zip file. I store that on my FTP site now so I can download it if I ever need it. Failing that you use the RDP drive to copy the file but it will be extremely slow as the RDP copy is painfully slow.

Once the files have been copied over you can unzip into a folder and install from there.

All that said - you don't need to have FoxPro on the server. You just need the runtimes to run a Web Connection application, so unless you need to manually poke around in the data or change code on the server (which I wouldn't recommend anyway), FoxPro isn't required on the server.

When you say 'copy the installer files from the CD', what do you mean? If I want foxpro on their (to make data changes etc) dont I have to have the whole CD copied over? I created an iso file from the CD (303 MB) and plan to copy it overnite? Will that work

Since I have he original disk and the product key for foxpro and SQLServer, can I not download it from the web directly onto the cloud, and install with the key? Is there a website or do I call MS? This whole new server has to be set up because the old one has WS2003 and does not support TLS1.2

You can copy the CDs to a folder on your local disk and zip them. They're just files on a CD.

Here's what my downloads look like:

I package VFP CD contents, SP2 and the latest VFP OleDb driver into that single Zip file so everything needed for a complete install is there.

ISO files work too, but I don't recall if Server 2012 supports mounting ISOs - you'll likely need some additional software to use the ISO. A Zip file just works, except you have to unpack. FoxPro is not that large and you can skip a bunch of the support stuff.

FoxPro is hard to get any way you look at it. The only legal way I know is through MSDN - if you have an account you can download the ISO from the MSDN site. Same with SQL Server.
